Camping at South Texas style is now offered

Those who are interested to go camping together with the family, friends and barkadas are encouraged to consider bilingual weekend camp outs this winter at Texas Central Coast State Park, the Laredo area and the Lower Rio Grande Valley.

In this year, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department began hosting Texas Outdoor Family workshops in Houston and Austin State Parks areas. You can invite your friends and family to go camping at South Texas State Parks.

Status of Legal for camping ground

Kakanui camping ground that agreement to be reached legalize which has been causing controversy for about 10 years. On December 15, The Environment Court will be hold a pre-hearing conference in Dunedin which will consider a progress report of a resource consent for the camping ground which is established by Allan Jones.

Since 1990’s, the controversy has been running when Mr Jones establish a tavern on his first applied and camping facilities on the 1.23 ha site on Kakanui River South side between Waianakarua and River Rds.

The Waitaki District Council declined the application. Mr. Jones went to and established a campground with associated facilities, that claimed he had existing use rights. But the Council challenged that. In 2005, has notice of issued an abatement closing the camping ground.

The application was for an one bedroom unit A-frame, ablution block and two one bedroom cabins with the other site for caravans and tents including some powered sites. It attracted of 53 submissions and consent was issued but with access to the site of River Rd.

Those four submitters along with Mr Jones took the council to the Environment Court that the issue was over whether access to the camp should be from River Rds or Waianakarua.

They include an application from the Aukland Company Euroclass Design that wanted to subdivide a site on corner of TY Duncan Rd and State Highway 1 for retail and industrial sites. But the council refused the application, Euroclass modified the subdivision to include two lots and down from nine.

The other three appeals will also be updated:
- one by the Minister of Conservation
- two by Environment Canterbury

It has been proposed by the Council of relate to plan changes or variations.

Robert Pattison began camping out at Mann’s Village theater in Westwood

Camping Easy on Winter in Oregon and Washington with Yurts

In the summer, most of the camping trips are 1 nighters during weekend when campground are less crowded. During winter season how long have you spent in camping trips. Stacy Savona said it was a typical winter night on the Oregon Coast. Winds are gusting and the rain’s coming down, but she still remained high and dry in her yurt near Reedsport at William M. Tugman State Park.

Savona has comfortable to stay in one of the park’s yurts, the heavy canvas, circular tents that have been installed for rentals overnight at camping ground in state park in Oregon, Washington and beyond. Savona said “It’s kind of neat because you’re not really in a building and you get a different experience than being in the outdoors”. Savona, of Brooking, Ore., who also has stayed in the Oregon’s Valley yurt of the Rogue State Park. She said “probably the biggest reason people like to stay in them is that you don’t have to pack a tent and set up camp”.

Rate for Yurts in Oregon parks is $27 to $30 per night.

Physical structure of the yurt has fabric shell and rounded interior that also makes them appealing says Kemery.

Chris Havel, a spokesman for the Oregon Department of Parks and Recreation agrees of Kemery. He’s stayed in many yurts and describes the time inside as a “magical” at any time of the year.

Currently there are 190 yurts in Oregon parks around 170 on the coast. Chris Havel says over the past several years has scaled back on yurt acquisitions to catch up on building simple cabins at state campgrounds. Around roughly 60 cabins in Oregon Campgrounds, renting from about $35 per night.

Peter Dolan, customer service specialist at Pacific Yurts said “some people the they’re difficult… to get a reservation because of their popularity”. Pacific Yurts has made the structures since 1978.

2009 Camping World Truck Series logo unveiled

Camping World the new title sponsor for NASCAR staring on 2009. NASCAR and Camping World unveiled the logo on Friday for the Camping World Truck Series. After 14 years of sponsorship by Craftsman, the new look was revealed as the latest step for the series transition to Camping World sponsor on 2009.

Camping World Truck Series season inaugural will kick off Feb. 13, 2009 at Daytona International Speedway. The series which features 23 tracks has 25 races located across North America, exclusive broadcast on SPEED and FOX.
