Fire destroys camping trailer

In Eagle Point Campground, a camping trailer sparked a fire and destroyed with an electronic malfunction before 2 p.m Monday. No one inside the trailer. The trailer owned by Stacey Hampton of Lucas, when the blaze started. Mike Clinage, a Mifflin fire Chief, he estimated damage to the 1983 trailer at $12,000 to $15,000.

During the fire come out, neighbors alerted the fire department. Clinage said “flames were coming out of the roof when we pulled up”. The trailer was far enough from other object, nothing else was damage.

Camp park rangers called the owner to let them know about the incidents of the fire. Stacey Hampton (owner) told firefighters that shed didn’t have many personal items inside, she felt upsed because the trailer wasn’t insured.

Rivers to Begin Camping After Nigeria Festival

Mr. Boma Iyaye, the Rivers State Commissioner for sports said to prepare for the National Sports Festival that athletes discovered at the on-going state sports festival would commence camping immediately. He said such athletes would be certified by State Sports Council to have met the minimum standard set before being called to camp. He told sports writer in Port Harcourt yesterday.

Mr. Iyaye said “”When we discover these talents, there is a minimum standard set up for such athletes to meet before being called to camp. If we get athletes that meet this minimum standard, we take them to camp immediately to start preparations for the National Sports Festival”.

If some of the athletes that do not meet the minimum standard would be groomed, taken for the future events exposure to the National Sports Festival. Mr. Iyaye said in an on-going sports festival, people were excited being part of the festival and part in the games. He said that his impression generally is the excitement of River’s people and the spectators watching these events.

It showed that new talents have been discovered by the officials stressing that the purpose of the games were being achieved. Some athletes taken to the National Sports Festival exposure for future events if did not meet the standard. In the past seven years that the games did not hold, so they are very excited.

Xaghra Scout Groups Camping Trip First Experience

Last month 18 Leaders, six Scouts and 19 Cub Scouts at parking area at Ramla Bay was their home during camping outdoor. It was their first camping experience for the newly formed Xagħra Scout Group to helped by more experienced Victoria Scouts, namely ASL David Grech organized four jam-packed days.

All leaders met at the camp site to set up tents at dawn time before the scorching heat set in. The camps were acquired different sources, gratefully donated one by writer Charles Coyne and his wife. By 10:00 in the morning everything was set and, after some hours, activities kicked off. Those responsible for night watch took their place under the marquee.

In there campsite, the leaders kept busy where the Cub Scouts arrived. Water games were held then followed by beach cleaning in conjunction with Gaia Foundation. At night time, build up a campfire with an open to all fund raising barbecue. With lights out, they gathered in their tents to gain energy for the next day.

Before Mass celebrated by AGSL Fr Gauci more water games followed. A scavenger hunt closed the activities for that day. In dinner time they are all together, after that all Cubs reluctantly left the campsite.

18 Leaders six Scouts, and 19 Cub Scouts helped clean the camp site and also the parking area.

GIR,Dodge Dealers Provide Camping World Tickets to Chrysler Employees

Workers at Daimler Chrysler St. Louis South Plant will receive a camping world 200 tickets from Gateway International Raceway (GIR) staff with the Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers. They handing out 5,000 tickets to the Camping World 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at GIR. The plant, has been schedules on Oct 31 to shutdown,produces the Dodge Caravan minivan. According to UAW Joint Operations Facilitator, Bill Roberts that approximately 1,400 workers/employees will lose their jobs as a result of the closure.

Roberts said the tickets of race at Gateway on Saturday which also features the ASA Late Model Series Challenge Division, will provide a boost in morale to the plant’s employees. It’s going that people are thinking about (the employees) and the impact that shutdown is making on their lives. It will be a morale that people are thinking about them and they haven’t been abandoned.

Vince Capatosta, Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers President, who among the volunteers handing out tickets Wednesday. Capatosta said “We’re always excited about working with our partners at the plant. It’s unfortunate that the circumstances revolving around the South plant have taken place. ” The quality of the vehicles that they build with a plant will be back up and running at some point. Over the years, Chrysler family plants would be one of the better plants as far as quality.

Lenny Batycki , a Gateway International Raceway Vice President and General Manager said it was important to be there for the men and women of the plant who have worked hard to provide such a quality product for American families.

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series ASA Late Model Series at GIR practices takes place Friday with ASALMS qualifying at 4 p.m. On Saturday at 10 a.m the NCTS qualifying with the Camping World 200 scheduled to go green at approximately 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
