Washington State raises camping fees

Washington Parks and Recreation Commission has voted to raise the camping fees in state parks SPOKANE, Washington starting on November. Virginia Painter a commission spokesman says the cost per night will increase or go up by $1. Campsites currently cost $17 to $22 per night, or $23 to $31 for sites with electrical hookups.

The state park system rents also increase or go up the rental fees for cabins and houses, yurts and other structures. Commission approved the increases on Friday to cover increasing costs. Painter says 27% of the state parks and recreation budget comes from user fees.

Texas Camping Workshop Teaches How TOS of Camping

Texas Outdoor Family Workshops will be focus to teach how-tos of happy camping, premiere season at Galveston Island State Park.

The overnight workshop set in state parks this summer and fall will include lessons in saltwater, fishing, night wonders, kayaking and more. It also welcome the tent-camping tenderfoots.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department state park outdoor programs coordinator, Chris Holmes said “No need to have an experience in camping, we’ll provide everything for the families. People with no experience, who in the past have really wanted to go camping but didn’t know how, now they can.”

Chris Holmes, a professional park ranger who migrated From England and Australia to Texas eight years age. He helped to develop the Texas Outdoor Family Activities in local parks the past tow years. The program expands to state parks, with Galveston picked for the first workshop.

Holmes said “We have good facilities, safe facilities, law enforcement and professional park rangers who can lead programming”. He worked with several Outdoor Family workshops.

Other TOF location include Huntsville State Park, Bastrop State Park, Buescher State Park, Brazos Bend State Park, McKinney Falls State Park and Palmetto State Park. Local park program locations include Georgetown, Kyle, Odessa, Rockwall, San Antonio and Waco. Four typically is $150 for the local park fee for a family and includes all meals.

Things to Bring When Organize a Camping Trip

What to Bring?
Mostly people are prepared in their camping trip but not 100% bringing the necessary when they leave home for trip. When you go on a camping trip of course make a lists of your own to make sure you don’t forget anything or make a lists what to bring for the safe side. Here are the following lists of the common items.

Tent or Trailer
Camping Tent or Trailer is part in the trip because if you enjoy the trip for how many days and sleeping in the campgrounds you have to use a tent. Make sure the tent/trailer is certified waterproof, and pitch your tent at home before leaving to make sure you know how it works.

Sleeping bag
Sleeping bags don’t really matter on camping out in the summer but it comes in a variety of temperature ratings. Sleep experience won’t be much different than at home, you might also want to purchase an inflatable mattress.

Food
Food is important in camping trip. The quality of the meals dictates the quality of your trip. You don’t have many options aside from cooking your own food, it’s important to treat yourself to something you like. Make sure to bring all the necessary ingredients for each serving of food before leaving the house.

Keep it simple prepare items are hot dogs, steaks, pancakes, burgers, omelets, and canned food. It’s a good idea to cook meals at home and bring it on a trip a packaged servings . Bring also clean water if you are not sure if not available on-site.

Kitchen Tools

Clothing
Provide all the kinds of weather conditions suitcase like underwear, shorts, t-shirts, long sleeves, pants, jacket. Be sure you bring enough underwear to be able to change on a daily basis, jacket is also important at night.

Bring some swim trunks even if there’s no lake at the campsite, you can find a stream or a river nearby. Bring a hat to protect from the sun, bring also the raincoat before leaving the house. You’ll never be able to live with yourself if you don’t.

Cheryl Howard, manager of Huron River Valley Resort, in Huron said “You’re not paying anything compared to a hotel. You are getting back to nature and spending time with your family instead of spending time watching TV. And we are 15 minutes away from Cedar Point so there is still plenty to do.”

Camping is cost savings and lot of activities such as hiking, swimming, canoing, playgrounds, basketball courts, game room, fishing and personal fire pits. People don’t want to drive because of the rising gas prices. You can park your RV for the season in a weeks vacation.

The camping cost is normally determined by the size of the site. It is usually the ideal for families or groups to get together. Camping with cabins cost is less expensive than staying in hotel.
