Camping at Beeds Lake State Park

North Iowa Campgrounds, despite some up and down season. A park manager at Beeds Lake State Park is ready to up a new label on camping and it would be nice to see when finished.

The baseball is no longer America’s pastime but it’s camping that was said by Denny Ewers, a manager of the park near Hampton. In the past 30 years, there are more campers in the last couple of years than the past 30 years. Denny Ewers observe and seen that.

“Attendance in 2008 has been really average, have shown increases in numbers of campers. The first part of the season has been a little bit down, not a lot but a little”, according to Ewers. Josh Rembe ranger at Clear Lake State Park with Ewers’ analysis, even though Clear Lake State Park serves a broader user base. He estimated at 80 percent of the campers that visit Beeds Lake live within 20-25 miles of the campground.

Rembe says “I think we might be down just a little bit this year compared to years past. Spring wasn’t a good spring weatherwise for camping”. The gas prices increases, June flooding and local activities have all played in the number of campers seen on the weekend fall out from. Rembe observe the schedules and number of people at the Independence Day Weekend, it was busy at Clear Lake State Park.

Rembe said “The fourth of July is always a huge weekend, but we were full two weeks prior. I’ve never seen that before”. Tammy Domonoske, park manager at McIntosh Woods State Park noticed many of the same early July like what Rembe says.

During her three trips to Minnesota campgrounds this summer, Domonoske said she couldn’t help but notice the large amount of tent campers compared to North Iowa’s campgrounds, which tend to have more recreational vehicle camping. People there just throw their tent in a van and head out.

Experienced in Camping trip?

Did you experienced in camping trip? How old you were? Where you camped? Who took you? a lot of questions from the people didn’t experience camping trip. I experienced for the first time with batch mate last year, they invited me along on an overnighter under the stars along the banks of the Licking River in northern Kentucky.

My family wasn’t much into outdoor recreation except for the occasional fishing trip to a local pay lake, so I was unaware of camping to this time. My first overnight camp out turned out to be a blast, and I was ready to try longer camping trips. The first time when you want to experience camping trip is nice and you will enjoy watching under the stars in night time and make sure you bring the important for you to aware the problem when it comes.

Camping World West Race at home track

Since joining the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) Camping World Series West last year, Jason Bowles established himself as a dominant figure in road course events. He has now demonstrated his ability on an oval, winning the California Highway Patrol 200 on the half-mile track at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, California.

The event or race was part of the July event, it is the 4th of July before a packed house at the Southern California facility that featured an exciting driving exhibition by members of the California Highway Patrol as of the pre-race festivities, with the night being capped off later with a spectacular fireworks show.

Jason Bowles said “It was nice to win on an oval, I’ve never won here at Irwindale, even with it being my home track. I was really worried about coming here this week. I thought we were going to struggle and we would have to do all we could to salvage some decent points.”

Bowles was fast enough to garner the Coors Light Pole Award, his second of the season topping a field of 31 cars with a qualifying lap of 96.634 mph in the Bob Bruncati-owned No. 22 Sunrise Ford Ford.

Although Bowles led the initial laps, David Mayhew charged from his starting spot on the outside of the front row to take the lead on lap 3. He appeared to have the car to beat, maintaining the top spot through the midway break of the race.

Jason Bowles, a 25-year-old driver from nearby Ontario. But Bowles had other plans. “We made a few changes at the break, The thing was just a rocket, especially on long runs. I was just trying to take it easy with lapped traffic and just be careful not to get involved in anything. I knew if we could go green for a couple of laps, I was going to be good.”

“Once we started going, about 20 laps after the break, they were holding me up. I knew I had to go, because there was going to be guys coming from behind if I didn’t go now. I saw an opportunity to get him stuck behind some lapped traffic. It didn’t work the first time, but the second time it did and I was able to get by and never saw him again. ”

Bowles gained the lead after a fierce four-way battle in traffic on lap 129. Although he pulled away slightly, that margin was erased by a couple of late-race cautions. Bowles was able to hold off all challengers, however, winning by a margin of .994 seconds. The victory, the fourth of his career, adds to his win two weeks before on a road course and his two road course wins as a rookie a year ago. He netted $7,500 in prizes and posted awards.

The next event on the schedule for the NASCAR Camping World Series West is the Toyota Bi-Mart Firecracker 150 presented by NAPA at Douglas County Speedway in Roseburg, Ore., on July 11.

Camping Fee at State Park is increased

The cost more this summer to camp at State Park in Illinois. The cost or price jump will be post an announcement or noticeable this holiday weekend. Eric Shangraw (one lawmaker) explains, the higher campground fees are outrageous.

From March through November, Sandy Prisby stays in her camper at Jubilee College Park. As a park host and volunteer, she gets a free spot. But she feels bad for the young families she have to collect higher campground fees from. The cost a night of the spot has jump from $15 to $20 with electricity. In holiday, the cost has doubled.

Prisby said “I’m especially feeling bad for the people that have been coming out here for years and people with small children. Those families are trying to stay close to home. But they come out here and find the rates are up. They get a little agitated. A lot of times it is their only form of recreation and with gas prices this high”.

Joyce Ernst, a camper, her reaction “The governor decided to be selfish. As far as I’m concerned, (he is) taking away the pleasure of what people enjoy”. The fees jumping to $30 a night, the worst sticker shock in coming holiday weekend. If you stay 3 days such as Friday, Saturday and Sunday it will cost you $90. A last year it was 45 bucks in 3 days.

The fee increases are outrageous and it the practice of jacking up fees to pay for other expenses is a hallmark of the Blagojevich Administration, it was said by David Leitch (Republican State Representative). The cost to camp has gone up and the staff at Jubilee has been cut. Last year or I think four years ago there were five park rangers and today there are three rangers, Leitch says.

Taxpayers are truly paying more to get less when camping at state parks in Illionois.
