Father and Son Missing After Colorado Camping Trip

Relatives of the doctor from Austin, Texas are asking for help to find him and his 13 year old son, who believe they are somewhere in the southern Colorado High County at CHAFFEE COUNTY, Colorado.

Robert Spitz, 50 year old and his son Caleb Spitz, 13 year old are both missing. Family member Bill Neuphaus of Houston said relatives haven’t heard from them after Colorado Camping Trip.

July 22, the father and son were last seen in Salida getting fishing licenses at the Arkansas Headwaters Recreation District Offices, said by Chaffee County authorities. Father and son told to park officials they were going fishing and camping for 3 - 4 days but they didn’t return after 4 days.

Neuhaus saw the father and son in Almosa a week ago, they are traveling in a White 2000 Chevy Coachman RV with Texas license plate 872-BTW.

No overnight camping in City Park during DNC

Mayor John Hickenlooper and the City of Denver announced that there will be no camping at night in City Park during the Democratic National Convention. City rules prohibit camping in the park and it will close at 11 p.m each night. Hickenlooper will turn on the sprinklers if people stay past the closing time.

The “Tent State University” group had received a permit to set up camp in the park. Almost 20,000 people will be there during the convention.

Carla Madison of the Denver City Council said “At this point, we’ve never let anybody camp in our parks including the Boy Scouts, so it’s nothing political, it’s just something the city doesn’t allow.”

Adam Jung of Tent State University said “we don’t want to see people sleeping in the neighborhoods. We don’t want to see people sleeping on the street.”

Camping on Highway to be Charged

Campers who have been camping next to the R28 in Randfontein, will be charged with go against, as of rules and laws the National Road Traffic Act. This is according to Jorrie Jordaan, a Director of Public Safety in the West Rand District Municipality.

A lot of foreign nationals are being removed where they have been sleeping in the road for the past five days. Officials are helping them load their belongings into police trucks.

The United Nation High Commission for Refugees says over 600 foreign nationals willing to be repatriated to their home countries (where they from). More than 10 families, mostly Congolese and Burundian, have registered for voluntary repatriation.

Hundreds of foreign nationals are currently being removed from the side of the road

Two hikers found by rescuers from camping trip

Two hikers have been found unhurt northwest of Nederland, Colorado who were overdue returning from an overnight camping trip.

Patrick Nelson and Sean Klomparens, a Boulder County sheriff’s officials set out Saturday with plans to climb South Arapahoe Peak and they expected to return to Nelson’s parents home in Windsor by 5 p.m. Sunday.

Patrick Nelson of Cedar, Rapids, 21 year old; Sean Klomparens of Rockville, Maryland, 20 year old; They got lost and went off their planned route in their camping trip. They found by Rocky Mountain Rescue group in near of Goose Lake.

2010 more adventure camping sites in NCR

NCR planned to build up five adventure camping sites in the next two (2) years. The four of them will be located in the NCR cities of Haryana - Surajkund, Dharuhera, Hodal and Damdama in New Delhi. The campers won’t have to travel all the way to Rishikesh or Manali with the Haryana Tourism setting up five camping sites around the Capital.

Mr. Kiran Choudhry, Haryana tourism minister said that the Central tourism ministry has already planned and issued guidelines for setting up of camping sites escpially the accommodation (quality and standards). Haryana government was working and coordinate with the Centre and adventure tour operators association to finalize the project for more camping sites. The target is to attract more tourists, and work at camping sites at Surajkund, Hodal, Dharuhera and Morni.

Central government provide funds for Damdama camping site (had used camping sites over the years). It would provide basic infrastructure around the camping site include electricity, connectivity, public toilets, tourist reception facilities and parking grounds. State government’s tourism policy has provision for short term and long term policy to private players and accordingly some of camping sites would be leased in Public Private Partnership (PPP) to provide basic facilities to tourists.

Haryana government looking a huge number of adventure campers during Games when the entire NCR to witness huge tourist inflow. They provide unique facility to tourists would be big business since even the sports persons coming from different countries. Senior Tourism Department Official said “But in case they don’t want to cover long distance, these camps would be ideal for them. This initiative would help the tourist destinations such as Surajkund and Damdama regain their vigour. Haryana tourism has been organizing adventure activities for the last six-seven years such as para-sailing at Civil Aviation Club, Pinjore, Karnal and Narnaul, besides camping at Tikkar Taal near Morni hills in Panchkula. Similarly, river rafting, canoeing and kayaking were also arranged in Yamuna between the Ponta Sahib to Hanthikund and Kalesar in Yamunanagar district”.

The minister inaugurated Rajhans Convention Centre, only 8 km away from south Delhi, move to boost tourism activity in Surajkund.

Develop more Camping Stall

The community survey in Fort Saskatchewn are requested to add more camping stalls to the city and they want to see something done as soon as possible. Almost 60% respondents who said it was either “important” or “extremely important” for City Council to build or develop additional public campground spaces.

The Turner Park campground, a huge place for camping but is the only campground in the city, has 20 stalls. Since 2006, 40 to 50 site campground and day use area planned near the boat launch received $3.1 million in funding from Council but was put on hold this year. They need to have more budget for the project to add more campground, when council took the additional $2.25 million needed out of the budget.

The Council members asking for the people what could they develop when they expand the Turner Park campground. 20% of respondents were neutral and 19% said new campground spaces were either “unimportant” or “not at all important”.

Camping Trip missing a Manitoba teen

Pancho PetersGretna - Since a weekend camping trip, mounties in Manitoba are seeking for the public’s help in finding a missing teenager.

Pancho Peters, 18 year old, a Manitoba teen missing since camping trip. He left in his home on Saturday night to go camping at St. Malo Provincial, 60 kilometers south of Winnipeg. He didn’t return as expected on Sunday. Peters also know as (A.K.A) Poko, is described as a blond haired, blue eyed man, 5′7″ height, weighing 165 pounds. He often wears a black ball cap, RCMP said.

He has a car brand name 1989 Pontiac 6000 with a license plate DKC 926 in Manitoba, he was driving at that time. The car has rust on the sides a luggage rack attached to the trunk.

Discovery of RDN camping at Descanso Bay

Local camping is the summer vacation style of people. Local residents who enjoy the outdoors have prompted because of rising fuel costs. By changing their long distance travel plans and check out the great spot in the backyard.

Larry McNabb, Chair of the RDN Regional Parks and Trails Advisory Committee says “We’re lucky enough to live in a place where there’s no need to burn tanks of fuel in order to have a fantastic camping experience”.

Descanso Bay on Gabriola Island, and at Horne Lake, Regional District of Nanaimo has two Campgrounds that fit the bill nicely, about 10 kilometers southwest of Bowser. In recent years, both campgrounds have grown steadily in popularity. Horne Lake showing a 25% occupancy increase in each of past three years, and Descano Bay attracting about 15% more campers annually.

From the Ferry Terminal on scenic Gabriola Island, Descanso Bay Regional Park is just a few minutes. Offering 32 sites on a beautiful 40-acre oceanfront property. For overnight campers the beautiful oceanfront setting makes a great home away from home. Two oyster bays provide many delights for boating and hiking visitors by day. Descanso Bay has a network of trails through a well established forest setting (adjacent to the 113 acre Cox Community Park).

There is Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park, Horne Lake Regional Park, Horne Lake. The Horne Lake Regional Park at the west end of Horne Lake, right next to Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park. This 260-acre Regional Park includes approximately three kilometers of Lake front and two kilometers of riverfront along the Qualicum River.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will be conducting a workshop that will turn any novice into a burgeoning, dyed in the wool woodsman. $55 for a mere up to eight people, families can learn from TPWD park rangers the basics of setting a tent, tips and tricks on how to have a great time tent camping, the safe way to use a lantern and a stove and more.

All equipment is provided and sponsored by Toyota these events. From recent years, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) saw a decline in tent campers and found out many Texans just don’t possess the skills their fathers did. To combat what has been termed Nature Deficit Disorder, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) has set up the workshops to get families back in touch with nature.

For those who are not familiar with TPWD’s drawn hunts:
TPWD, offer an opportunity to be selected to hunt prime quality land for a rock-bottom minimum of cost compared to booking on outfitter. The selections are made “lottery style” via computer. Hunter will wait for the selection process to occur for those who wishes to participate enters areas and a date he wishes to hunt.

They receive bonuses for the highest hunter success rate from the staff for these hunts if is genuinely interested in the success of hunters.

Cleaning, Maintenance, Storing Tips of Lantern in Camping Trip

Lanterns is safety in using a lighting at night on a camping trip. Clean up regularly will improve fuel efficiency and flame control, and prevent corrosion or rust. The important thing when it goes into storage after the camping season, a lantern should be cleaned.

Lanterns should be:
* wiped out with warm water and diswashing soap

* dried before storing

Coleman is suggested equipment for camping trip in safety storage and care tips. It can help keep a lantern in good condition between extended uses.

- Storing the lanterns should be put in a plastic bag after cleaning; seal the bag with a twist tie to prevent the insects from crawling in the unit.

- Transfer the fuel out of the fuel tank and into a fuel can if the lanterns uses liquid fuel. To preven a lacquer buildup on tha tank’s fuel tube. Storing an appliance with fuel in the tank can eventually cause a buildup on the fuel tube, and restricts fuel flow.

- At least twice a year for oil the pump cup on the lantern tanks pump plunger with a light machine oil. This will seal the cup against the inside of the pump barrel, and help ensure the pump will push air into the tank properly.
