Develop more Camping Stall
The community survey in Fort Saskatchewn are requested to add more camping stalls to the city and they want to see something done as soon as possible. Almost 60% respondents who said it was either “important” or “extremely important” for City Council to build or develop additional public campground spaces.
The Turner Park campground, a huge place for camping but is the only campground in the city, has 20 stalls. Since 2006, 40 to 50 site campground and day use area planned near the boat launch received $3.1 million in funding from Council but was put on hold this year. They need to have more budget for the project to add more campground, when council took the additional $2.25 million needed out of the budget.
The Council members asking for the people what could they develop when they expand the Turner Park campground. 20% of respondents were neutral and 19% said new campground spaces were either “unimportant” or “not at all important”.
