Homeless not guilty of camping in Victoria parks
Three homeless activist not guilty of violating the city policy on camping in Victoria parks. A judge has found them ‘not guilty’ of city policy.
The city policy stated which camping in parks has limited time between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m., was brought in after the supreme court of Canada ruled banning people from setting up temporary shelter unconstitutional, stated city bylaw.
Judge Brian MacKenzie says, While he feels the city’s policy changes to the original bylaw are reasonable compromise, they must be worked into a proper bylaw.
Mackenzi says, he could not convict the accused of violating the city policy.

The three activists have been repeatedly accused of violating the city policy or ‘anti camping’ policy.
