Camping Fees at Ottumwa Park may increase

The fees for camping in Ottumwa Park might be increase whether you use a tent or a recreational vehicle. The possible increases are on the Park Advisory Boards agenda for today at 4:30PM in Room 108, City Hall.

Gene Rathje, Park Director prepared a “proposed fee changes” sheet that includes The Beach Ottumwa and The Ottumwa Park Campground

Recreational vehicles will increase from $13.50 to $15 and Tent camping fees would increase from $8 to $9.

At The Beach Ottumwa, some fees will decrease and can be rounded off so they’re easier for staff and customers to handle.

For example, the regular admission for someone 48 inches and taller is $9.58, the proposed fee is should $9.

For those under 48 inches tall is the same method the proposed fee is rounded off and the dry spectator $4.23, rounded off to $4.

In any decision by the Park Advisory Board will be forwarded to Ottumwa City Council for approval. The park meeting will be open to the public.
