Missing Camper, found the body in mountain area
The man who disappeared during on a camping trip in the East County highlands and he didn’t came back on Saturday. The deputies searching for the missing Point Loma resident and found a man’s body in the area on Monday.
A dispatcher said the sheriff’s helicopter crew spotted the corpse 10 a.m. near Paso Picacho Campground in a mountain area of South of Lake Cuyamaca.
The dead man appeared to match the missing man of Raymond Peterson, 42, a general description that they are searching. According to Sheriff’s report that Peterson checked into the campsite on Thursday and was supposed to leave on Saturday.
Peterson never checked out of the camping ground, and his car still remained there after he went through and missing, says Lt. Mike Munsey.
The County Medical Examiner’s Office sent personnel to the mountain area to pick up the body.
