Xaghra Scout Groups Camping Trip First Experience

Last month 18 Leaders, six Scouts and 19 Cub Scouts at parking area at Ramla Bay was their home during camping outdoor. It was their first camping experience for the newly formed Xagħra Scout Group to helped by more experienced Victoria Scouts, namely ASL David Grech organized four jam-packed days.

All leaders met at the camp site to set up tents at dawn time before the scorching heat set in. The camps were acquired different sources, gratefully donated one by writer Charles Coyne and his wife. By 10:00 in the morning everything was set and, after some hours, activities kicked off. Those responsible for night watch took their place under the marquee.

In there campsite, the leaders kept busy where the Cub Scouts arrived. Water games were held then followed by beach cleaning in conjunction with Gaia Foundation. At night time, build up a campfire with an open to all fund raising barbecue. With lights out, they gathered in their tents to gain energy for the next day.

Before Mass celebrated by AGSL Fr Gauci more water games followed. A scavenger hunt closed the activities for that day. In dinner time they are all together, after that all Cubs reluctantly left the campsite.

18 Leaders six Scouts, and 19 Cub Scouts helped clean the camp site and also the parking area.
