Rachel Walsh is my cousin. I’m disappointed with the police and media for only reporting the information about Rachel that she has two warrants as if she is some kind of fugitive. Rachel’s warrants are misdemeanors, and I am surprised to hear she has them because Rachel has always been a responsible woman who has held a job at the US Post Office for almost her entire adult life. She has lovingly raised four children and has a large extended family who love her and are sick about her disappearance. Since her husband died, not long ago, Rachel has been severely depressed and I’m sure that’s why she has been neglegent of appearing in court, and of her probation, and goofed up with the law in the first place. She is not one who normally gets in trouble with the law, but she is one who has tried to drown her depression in beer at times. Most all of us, including the police, should understand that, because most of us have done it ourselves. But, most of us don’t know what it’s like to lose a spouse.

She normally takes her adult children camping with her, but this weekend she wanted to be alone. There are many reasons she could be missing; she could have went deep in the woods, to think, and became lost, or she could be the victom of foul play. We, her family, know she is an intelligent, hard working, family woman and not just some common thug. The picture that’s been displayed all over TV and the internet is a mug shot. It’s a terrible likeness of her. She is a pretty woman. We love her and have not given up hope. I wish the police would report that to the media!
